Basically, by chance and sheer determination.
The concept is this:
To be a performing artist, you have to really want it. Meaning, you don't have it in you to do anything else. Or, you've tried everything you can think of and you keep coming back to this one thing. Storytelling is my one thing.
Practically, it looked like this:
I didn't know anyone in narration nor did I have access/the budget for equipment. So, I borrowed a mic, learned the easiest DAW (digital audio workstation), found a forum, recorded my first few books then, used the proceeds to purchase my own equipment. So on and so forth.
The point is this:
Everyone's journey is different. Begin with the basics and build from there.
